How do you bring it?
p90x:
1 year agoIt’s kind of a cheesy catch phrase, but it works. I didn’t really think about what it meant to me prior to re-reading some of the Gym Jones articles that I posted below. For me, it really comes down to an inner rage that I now bring to my workouts. A righteous indignation stemming from the fact that I have let my fitness get to a level that impacts my safety.
I bring it. And I know that I have more in me. I was one of the sheep in the gym who judged their fitness by how many people checked me out in the gym mirrors with their peripheral vision. No more. I now judge my fitness on the fire that burns in my joints that whispers: “quit. you know you want to.”
I judge my fitness on the Section 12 crackhead that I have to drag out of the hospital, the 20 year old who flexes his arm when I secure it for a pat frisk, or running 200 yards after someone while weighing 205 lbs (that is with gear, my actual weight is 180). You don’t get that fitness from a treadmill.
So what motivates you?
